I think if you look WAAAAAY back in the posts of this website you may find a few threads on Kubota Super UDT. Using it will only give JD an excuse to not honor the warranty down the road, and if it's out of warranty you could be out some big money. It might work ok but the downside risk is all yours.
#HY GARD LOW VISCOSITY MANUAL#
I just won't use a product unless the owners manual calls for it. Super UDT is for Kubota's and Hy-Gard Lo Vis is for Deere. Hettric I'm not positive, but looking at some of your past posts I think you have a Deere tractor. My question is, is it? I hate paying a premium and not getting what the manual calls for. Now is when I find out they have substituted Kubota K40105 super UDT for the low vis HY GARD. Got the call all was in and drove 45 mins to pick up. I've seen the same thing with low-vis Hy-Gard, so I would say that's more equivalent to Hy-Tran.I ordered 5 gal low viscosity HY GARD and filter (+some parts)from my dealer. When the weather got hot, the trans oil light started coming on. A guy here bought a 4440, everything else he had was red, so he put Hy-Tran in it just to standardize. It has additives for hydraulic systems (zinc ) and friction modifiers for wet clutches. No, HyGuard is hydraulic/transmission fluid.

When considering hydraulic oil, there is no heavy duty, super, ultra Posted 19:45 (#6605043 - in reply to #6605036) Subject: RE: New to Deere oil, is HY-Gard a heavy weight oil ? Makes sense though if they are different weights Had basically no Hyd functions at -20 while the other tractors were still stiff, but functional with co-op oil. Would make sense, I put hyguard back in my jd tractor recently, and with the cold weather, it is the most cold blooded tractor on the place this winter. #HY GARD LOW VISCOSITY ISO#
found some chart that compares ISO to SAE. I agree with Tim, HyGard is 15W-20W, Low Vis hy gard is 10W. I guess hydraulic oils use a different scale.Īre multi-viscosity fluids with high-viscosity index. I thought Hy-Gard was 20 weight, and Lo-Vis Hy-Gard was 10 weight.
